Breakfast radio star helps open new Haymarket Scotmid

Scotmid Co-operative opened a new store in Haymarket today (10 May 2013) with the help of Arlene Stuart from Forth One breakfast radio show, Boogie in the Morning. Over 200 people attended the official opening to get a first look at the new store and pick up a free goody bag.

The new Scotmid store, which was previously a branch of Margiotta, will feature an in-store bakery, specialty breads from The Breadwinner Bakery, a freshly squeezed orange juice maker, Costa Express (coming soon) and fresh ground coffee. The store also has a large fresh produce section, an extensive range of craft beer and specialty wines, ‘free from’ and premium product ranges, healthy recipe cards, lunchtime meal deals and wine tasting notes.

The new Haymarket store brings the number of city centre Scotmid Co-operative stores to 13 and is the fourth store in Edinburgh to benefit from Scotmid’s modernised store design and product range.

Gary Russell, Store Manager said: “The new Haymarket Scotmid looks fantastic and it has some beautiful original features that give the shop great character. In the store we have an excellent bakery, with The Breadwinner Bakery bread, as well as hot and chilled bakery products from Goodfellow and Stevens. We’re open from 6am to midnight, which makes us a really convenient shopping destination for the local area. We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to their new Scotmid store at Haymarket.”

Scotmid Haymarket is at 38 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh and will be open from 6am to midnight seven days a week.
