Local Range Grows With Growers Garden

Scotmid have grown their range of Scottish products by introducing Fife-based Growers Garden broccoli crisps into selected stores; continuing to showcase the best of Scotland’s larder.

Listening to the ever-changing needs of customers, Scotmid have acted decisively to add Growers Garden broccoli crisps to their popular range of Scottish produce in alignment with the growing trend for healthier snacks.

Two flavours of the crisps, made from broccoli grown in the East of Scotland are now available in eight Scotmid stores in Edinburgh. Growers Garden was founded by 16 broccoli growers who have worked together for more than 30 years as a co-operative, growing fresh broccoli, cauliflower and kale in Fife, Perthshire, Angus and the Scottish Borders.

Allan Wallace of Growers Garden said: “We’re delighted to secure our listing with Scotmid, who share our values and principles and are a Scottish co-operative. Following our launch into the market last year, winning a listing like this will really help our business to grow. This diversification project will helps to make our core vegetable-growing business more efficient, less wasteful and provide further rural employment.”
