Membership Agreement and Policies

1. The money you have paid for Scotmid share(s) is “risk capital” and you may not get it all back.
2. The Society is involved in a wide range of business activities including Retail, Property and Funeral Services.
3. Your share capital is not protected by a compensation scheme.
4. There is no access to the Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme in the event of a dispute concerning your share(s).

The Society is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority but is not required to comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Your investment is withdrawable without penalty at the discretion of the Board.

How information about you will be used

From time to time we will send you information about your membership of the Society, its businesses, news and events. We will usually communicate with you either by poster in-store or by writing to you at your home address. We will not share your information with third parties unless it is for the purpose of mailing information relating to your membership of the Society.

On occasion, we would like to send you marketing literature by e-mail, text or telephone.
