Community Listening Project
The Community Listening Project tackles isolation and its negative impact on mental health by fostering intergenerational connections and building strong relationships across the local community. This is achieved through a variety of initiatives, including a welcoming hub held on Mondays and Thursdays offering soup, bread, tea, and much-needed company, school involvement that brings different age groups together, weekly bereavement support dinners, a monthly craft and chat club, formal listening services provided by volunteers trained by Listen Well Scotland, and community outreach events. Together, these activities help promote independence, positive experiences, and help attendees develop a strong sense of identity and belonging within their community.
