Crowds gathered today to get the first glimpse of their new and improved Scotmid store in Stockbridge. Breakfast radio star, Arlene Stuart, from Boogie in the Morning on Forth One, cut the ribbon and welcomed the first customers to the new store with free goody bags.
The Stockbridge store has been transformed inside and out to improve the store for customers. The interior and exterior have been modernised with a new black and green design, while the store now has a larger range of products and offers new customer services.
Some of the key features of the store are a bigger fresh fruit and vegetable section, new premium products, a freshly squeezed orange juice maker, a larger chilled section and an extended range of wine and craft beer. Scotmid Stockbridge also has a new in-store bakery from Stuart’s the Bakers, an artisan bread table from The Breadwinner Bakery, and new wholefood and gluten free product ranges.
Craig McAulay, Store Manager said: “Our new-look Scotmid in Stockbridge looks like a brand new store. There’s much more space, more choice and more services for customers. Our customers have already been commenting that the store is a lot brighter and easier to find things. From our new bakery to our bigger selection of fruit and vegetables, our new store is now a better shopping experience for customers. We are encouraging all Stockbridge residents to come down and take a fresh look at the store.”
The new-look Scotmid store is at 36-38 Raeburn Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, EH4 1HN and is open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.
