Harry Cairney, Scotmid President, said: “As we approach our 160th anniversary, we are supporting Co-ops Fortnight to recognise and celebrate the longevity, diversity and success of co-operation around the world.
“We’ll be joining in by supplying litter-picking equipment to our local communities; helping 1500 groups to get involved in keeping their own surroundings beautiful.
“160 years on, in an ever-changing landscape, Scotmid’s core purpose remains the same; to serve our communities and improve people’s everyday lives.”
Two weeks of mass co-operation and we will be shining the spotlight on our activities across our trading areas where, through co-operation, we are making our core purpose a reality: serving our communities and improving people’s everyday lives.
In co-operation with our friends at Keep Scotland Beautiful, there will be co-ordinated clean-up activity taking place in and around Elgin, Nairn, Brechin, South Queensferry, Bonnybridge, Tullibody, Uddinsgton and Dumfries involving Scotmid Food and Semichem store staff members all going the extra mile to make a difference to their local environment.
