The family behind Scotland’s Findowie Farmhouse brand are celebrating after winning a competition to have its Venison Chilli ready-meal stocked in 30 Scotmid stores across Scotland from Wednesday, 16th February.
Findowie Farmhouse was one of five Scottish businesses to win the Scotmid Scottish Favourites competition, launched during Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight last year. The competition was created to champion local producers and further demonstrates Scotmid’s commitment to Scottish sourcing.
This three week promotional listing will help Findowie Farmhouse to extend its reach and improve brand awareness
John Buttar, Foodservice & Wholesale Manager at Findowie Farmhouse, said: “The promotional listing with Scotmid has supported us in so many ways, not least through the opportunity to sell our product to customers directly in store.
“The Findowie Farmhouse brand was launched with the intention of sharing the family’s beloved venison recipes. We value Scotmid’s commitment to supporting independent producers like us. We are proud to be showcasing top-quality Scottish venison in our Findowie Farmhouse products.”
The Scotmid Favourites competition, run in partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, was open to all Scottish food and drink suppliers across different product categories. More than than 50 entries were judged by a panel of experts.
Kirsty George, Head of Local Sourcing at Scotmid, said: “We are always looking for new ways to diversify and grow our Scottish product portfolio, so we were absolutely thrilled with the high quality of entries that we received for the Scottish Favourites competition.
“We are committed to supporting Scottish suppliers and developing long and lasting relationships with them. A massive congratulations to Findowie Farmhouse. We can’t wait to see the reaction from our customers when they buy and try this delicious, locally produced product.”
