Leuchie House
In East Lothian provide people living with a neurological condition, their carer’s and family members access to short respite breaks. Breaks offer 24-hour nursing care, accessible self-catering accommodation for all the whole family or regular at-home support. Funding will go towards the tailored activities & entertainment provided with every break helping to improve health, enables independence and reduces loneliness.
Play Therapy Base
Is a mental health charity for children aged 3- 14 in Midlothian, who are experiencing emotional distress. Services include weekly 1-1 play & art sessions with experienced therapists, either in the community or within one of the dedicated playrooms at their base in Eskbank, Dalkeith. Funding will contribute to the running and resourcing of these playrooms which are used by around 60 children each week.
The Rosebery Centre
The Rosebery Centre based in Polbeth, West Lothian supports older people living with dementia in and around the surrounding communities. Services include personalised activities, music & dance therapy, befriending, outings and carer support groups. Funding would be used to provide nutritious healthy lunches and snacks, providing members with valuable time to socialise and helps combat the isolation faced due to their condition.
