Forever Young Club

Forever Young Club supports older people in West Edinburgh at Carrickvale Community Centre. Providing transport and activities for vulnerable individuals including those with dementia or in wheelchairs. They offer activities like art, seated exercise, and bingo to reduce isolation and anxiety. A healthy lunch is always provided, along with regular outings.

Funding Goal

 Funding will support the delivery of activities and staffing costs, helping maintain this vital community service.

Gorebridge Community Cares

Gorebridge Community Cares is a local charity who support a range of groups, from young babies to the elderly. They offer workshops, advice & referrals, school holiday programmes and training opportunities to help remove inequalities and poverty, making their community a happier and healthier place to live.

Funding Goal

All groups, activities and services are provided free of charge and funding will be used to keep the services free for the community.

Kirkliston Community Conservation Volunteers/Waste Not Want Not Community Fridge

Kirkliston Community Conservation Volunteers (KCCV) is a small group of residents who run a community garden and help improve the aesthetics of the village. Within the group is the Waste Not Want Not Community Fridge who share good quality food donations and fundraise to cover the associated delivery costs. 

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to allow them to accept more food donations and open an additional day a week.

Seagull Trust Cruises

Seagull Trust Cruises (Ratho Branch) is run by volunteers and provide people with special needs, their carers, those in care homes or from local community groups free trips along the Union Canal from Ratho to Almondell & back. They carry out all their own maintenance and upkeep at their dry dock on the canal at Ratho.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to keep the 3 barges maintained and in-service.

Spark

Spark in Livingston, have provided a vital lifeline of activities and support for over 40 years. Their neighbourhood centre sits in the top 5% of the most deprived areas in Scotland with almost 60% of people living in poverty. Services provided help disadvantaged people in local community overcome social isolation & loneliness.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used towards their family activities, seated exercise groups, healthy eating club and much more.

The Larder

The Larder, West Lothian offers disadvantaged young people training and supports those affected by poverty with community pantries and homecooked meals. They recently developed a course for vulnerable families of primary school children called ‘Eat Well for Oral Health’, partnering with NHS dental health practitioners. The children and their families are taught how to make healthy meals on a budget whilst improving the oral health of young people.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to roll out more courses.
