The Veterans Community Lanarkshire

Veterans Community Lanarkshire (VCL) is a local charity supporting veterans and their families across Lanarkshire. They provide practical and emotional support through a welcoming community hub, offering friendship, welfare advice, and access to essential services. Their work includes community meals, social groups, wellbeing activities, and transport support, helping veterans who may be experiencing isolation, poor health, or financial hardship to feel connected, valued, and supported.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to continue delivering vital services through their community hub and annual events for veterans and their families. Funding will help enhance facilities, provide community meals and wellbeing activities, support volunteers, and offer transport for those with mobility challenges. This ensures the hub remains a safe, inclusive space where veterans can access support, reduce isolation, and build meaningful connections.

New Cumnock Rocks

New Cumnock Rocks is a community group bringing people together through creativity and support. The group provides weekly children’s rock painting and craft sessions, alongside grief and bereavement support for adults. Using arts and crafts as a way to express emotions, they offer peer support groups, one-to-one support, and online spaces.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to develop their new community premises and expand their bereavement support services. Funding will help improve the space with updated furniture and décor, create a welcoming environment for drop-in support, and enable outreach through open nights and awareness sessions.

North Glasgow Community Food Initiative

Royston Community Pantry is a local charity supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity across the community. They provide fresh food, pantry staples, and essential household items to those in need, including refugees, asylum seekers, people in recovery, those with disabilities, and single-parent families.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to continue providing essential food and maintain the safe, day-to-day running of the pantry. Funding will help keep shelves stocked with fresh and nutritious food, cover utilities and running costs, and support volunteers who are vital to the service.

Honeypot Children’s Charity (Ayrshire)

The Honeypot Children’s Charity supports young carers aged 5–12 who provide care for family members due to illness or disability. Many of these children face isolation, low confidence, and limited opportunities for a normal childhood. Through residential respite breaks, fun activities, and ongoing support, Honeypot gives young carers the chance to relax, build friendships, and create happy memories.

Funding will provide inclusive match and training kits to remove financial barriers, as well as video equipment and analysis tools to support player development and engagement. This investment will help participants build confidence, track progress, and feel a stronger sense of belonging.

North Lanarkshire Titans

North Lanarkshire Titans is an inclusive community basketball club creating opportunities for people across Lanarkshire. Since 2014, they have used sport to build confidence, develop life skills and bring people together. Supporting children, young people, adults and seniors, the club provides a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, barriers are reduced, and participation is encouraged regardless of background or ability.

Castlemilk Nursery (Indigo Childcare Group)

Castlemilk Nursery, part of Indigo Childcare Group, supports children aged 0–5 and their families in a community facing significant socioeconomic challenges. Through high-quality early years care, the nursery provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and develop essential life skills. Their work focuses on improving physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, while also supporting families through wider services.

Funding Goal

Funding will be used to enhance indoor and outdoor play opportunities for young children. Funding will be used to purchase a range of physical activity equipment, including balls, balance beams, and tricycles, to support movement, coordination, and teamwork. It will also enable hands-on healthy eating activities through equipment such as smoothie and soup makers, helping children learn about nutrition in a fun and engaging way. .
