Help ma boab – introducing Oor Shopkeeper Wullie!
Scotland’s children’s hospital charities have partnered with DC Thomson Media and Wild in Art to bring Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail to life in summer 2019.
This mass participation public art trail has 150 life-sized sculptures of Scotland’s iconic cartoon character placed in five cities; including outside the Scotmid store in Pilrig, Edinburgh.
Scotmid, who actively support children’s hospital charities in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, have sponsored the creation of a Scotmid-themed Oor Wullie; which has been designed by Mark Kirkham and was unveiled outside our store today (17 June).
Then at the end of the summer all the sculptures will be auctioned off and the money raised will be used to support the work of Scotland’s children’s hospital charities – including Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
