WHAT DO YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR COMMUNITY SPACE BLOOM?
Our Uddingston store is celebrating the launch of its 2022 Caulders Garden Centre pop-up by helping local community groups to transform green spaces.
We’d love to hear from local groups working on projects such as transforming allotments, developing wildflower gardens or improving small green spaces to promote positive mental well-being.
Successful groups will be invited to Caulders at Scotmid Uddingston to receive plants or equipment funding to make their project bloom.
Kirsty George, Head of Local Sourcing at Scotmid, said: “We’re really excited to help groups within the local community bring their green-fingered dreams to life. We hope that the Caulders pop-up will help not just local groups, but the whole community to brighten up their gardens ahead of the summer months.”
Last year, to celebrate the launch of the Caulders pop-up, volunteers from Uddingston Pride received a donation from Scotmid’s Uddingston Store which enabled more beautiful plants and flowers to be cultivated locally.
Liz Wilson, volunteer and Former Chairperson at Uddingston Pride, said: “Our main aim is always to lift community spirit and with the donation from Scotmid we were able to plant flowers at both the Parish Church and in a planter outside Scotmid’s Funeral branch.
“We were delighted to add even more colour to Uddingston ahead of the summer months – that definitely helped to lift spirits in the local community!”
Local groups should email membership@scotmid.co.uk to tell Scotmid about their project and what they need to make it bloom!
