Community Connect In-store Voting Begins

Scotmid members are invited to cast their Community Connect votes in-store before the deadline at 10pm on Sunday 22 September. The vote will help their preferred good cause group to be awarded funding of up to £15,000.

Members can support their preferred good cause group by collecting votes each time they shop in Scotmid. They can then cast those votes either in-store for a two-week period from Monday, 9th September or at their local OGM on either Monday 30 September (Murrayfield) or Tuesday 1 October 2019 (Bellshill and Brechin).

Members, who want to cast their votes in-store should simply present their Community Connect card at the till and then tell the store staff member which of the three good cause groups in their region they want to vote for. Members, who wish to attend the OGM are required to apply online via Scotmid.coop before Monday, 23rd September at 4pm.

Chief executive, John Brodie, said: “Our core purpose is to serve our local communities and improve people’s everyday lives and Community Connect helps to not only bring communities together but brings projects to life that are at the heart of those communities. If members aren’t able to attend the upcoming OGMs then they can still determine the outcome by voting in store.”

Since the initiative was launched in 2017, over £230,000 has been awarded to 27 good cause groups enabling key projects to come to life in local areas.
