Lakes and Dales are a group of nine stores serving local communities across the Eden and Lake Districts in Cumbria, Weardale Valley in County Durham and newly added stores in Seaton Valley north of Newcastle – areas renowned for farming, tourism and excellent local produce.

Previously Penrith and Seaton Valley Cooperatives, the stores have a strong heritage and share Scotmid’s rich history of co-operation – and of course have both been at the heart of their local communities since the 19th century.

With convenient opening hours from early in the morning through to late in the evening, our friendly staff are proud to support the local community and local suppliers, with many stores having a great range of local produce on offer.

Store Manager

Store Managers are key to the success of our business by leading, motivating and developing their teams to exceed customer expectations. Regardless of which store you are in, your main focus areas will include driving sales, product availability and developing the team.  You could also have an instore bakery offer, hot food and ‘food to go’, or a strong local product range that gives your store a real point of difference to get behind.

Senior Team Leader

Some of our stores also have a Senior Team Leader role – in addition to the duties of the Branch Supervisor, a Senior Team Leader works in partnership with the Store Manager to contribute to improving KPI performance and productivity efficiencies, as well as deputising for the Store Manager during periods of leave and on rest days.

Branch Supervisor

Our Branch Supervisors are involved in all aspects of running the store – deputising for the store manager and helping deliver everything from compliance and stock management, to store standards and people development.  An integral part of the store management team, you will need to be a good communicator who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and has a team minded approach.

Customer Service Assistant

Customer Service Assistants are the backbone of a store.  You need to be able to turn your hand to anything and are responsible for creating an efficient, welcoming environment which gives great customer service and wows our customers every day.
