Scotmid members are politely reminded that this is the final week for them to cast their Community Connect votes in-store (deadline Sunday 23 September), so simply pop into your local store, present your card at the till and tell them which Good Cause Group you would like to vote for.
Remember the Community Connect short-listed Good Cause Groups are as follows (click on the group’s name for more info on their charity):
North – Inverness Foodstuff, Pillar Kincardine, Laurencekirk Memorial Park
West – Equitots, Esteem Clydesdale, St Andrew’s Hospice
East – Blood Bikes Scotland, Broxburn Family Centre, Harlawhill Day Care Centre
Scotmid Co-operative’s innovative initiative Community Connect has seen members throughout Scotland allocate substantial sums to Good Cause Groups with funds of £75,000 due to be allocated at the upcoming Ordinary General Meetings (OGMs) taking place in Edinburgh, Bellshill (both Monday 1 October) and Brechin ( Tuesday 2 October).
Every six months three Good Cause Groups are shortlisted to receive a Community Connect award. Scotmid members collect votes every time they shop in store and then attend the twice yearly member meetings to cast those votes to allocate up to £15,000 to the three short-listed groups.
Members have relayed feedback that it is not always possible for them to attend the meetings and have asked for an alternative way to cast their votes.
As a result, Scotmid are pleased to announce that members will now be able to vote for their favourite good cause groups when shopping in-store, from Monday 10 – Sunday 23 September.
Scotmid would still like to see as many members as possible attend the upcoming OGMs so, as a bonus, members, who register and attend the meetings will receive 15 extra Community Connect votes.
